Activities
SESUN will be providing a range of activities to support collaboration between Chinese and European IT personnel.
Over the period up to May 2007 we will be organising a number of seminars, workshops and inplementation studies in China.
Also, there will be a developing range of virtual mechanisms for communication and collaboration.
Seminars
three seminar tours are organised in China. For each tour 3 / 4 European HCI experts will provide a one-day seminar in a series of three or four Chinese locations. Each will be led by a named chairperson.
The seminars are designed to enable participants to explore current issues in a focussed topic within systems usability.
Research workshops
The Research workshops are similar in format to the seminars. However the Research Workshops will be focussed on new and emerging research topics within the field of systems usability. They are designed to foster collaborative links and lead to joint research projects and funding proposals.
Implementation studies
Three ‘action research’ based implementation studies will be conducted. Implementation studies are designed to provide a mechanism for a detailed understanding and specification of key usability issues pertaining in China. The output from each study will be a set of recommendations to be taken further forward in the development of the ITC sector in China.
