Aims

Taking the SESUN partnership as a whole the objective is:

To extend the knowledge base in China and Europe relating to methodologies, tools and techniques that support the building of usable quality IT products in today’s global ITC market.

For China the main objectives are:

  1. To contribute to the further development of the Chinese ITC industry and the integration of Chinese society into the global information society
  2. Support the development of usable and user/citizen centred systems in China
  3. To promote the development of usability practices in the Chinese ITC industry
  4. To promote Human-Computer Interaction as an integral element of university degree courses in Computing and IT

For Europe the main objectives are:

  1. To build a greater understanding of the usability and localisation needs of Chinese ITC users, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Europe’s ITC industry
  2. To collaborate with our Chinese counterparts in the development of a new generation of artefacts and infrastructures for a global community
  3. To provide a base or window through which a ‘Sino-European Usability Support Centre’ can ‘showcase’ European expertise
